Rui Gonçalves

Rui Miguel Gonçalves, graduated in Jazz-Trombone at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo (ESMAE) at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto IPP

He holds a Masters in Music Education from the New University of Lisbon – Faculty of Social and Human Sciences and Post Graduation in Special Education.

They have already begun to study the 9 years in the school of music of Ateneu Artístico Vilanfranquense. And at the age of 13 he joined the Conservatório Nacional de Música in Lisbon, where he attended the training courses for wind instrumentalists.

He started studying Jazz at the Hot Club Portugal Jazz School. He was part of the Big Band of the Hot Club, as well as the Orquestras of the television programs “Congratulations”, “Zone Mais”, “Do not forget the toothbrush” Golden Globes “. It is part of the Orchestras” Sons da Lusófonia “and” Sons da Fala “.

He recorded and played with Luís Represas, Trovante, Rui Veloso, Tony Carreira, Mickael Carreira, Black Mamba, Dany Silva, GNR, Tito Paris, Eduardo Paim, Orishas, ​​Martinho da Vila, Tabanka Djazz, Marco Paulo, Paulo Flores, Pedro Joia, Herman José, Ed Motta, Don Kikas and others.

Tournées: “Black Out” (1995-1996), “Delfins (1997),” Raul Marques and friends of Salsa “(1998), Fernando Tordo – (1998) Tony Carreira (Since 2008).

In 1998 by invitation of Warner Brothers worked with Alejandro Sanz in its events in Portugal.

He joined the Guimarães and Culturgest Jazz Festival from 1999 to 2004 with Gil Goldstein, Michael Gibbs, Maria Shneider, Bob Mintzer, Gianluiggi Trovesi and Kenny Wheeler.

He was part of the Herman Sic Orchestra of Herman José (2000 to 2007) and the Orchestra of the television program “Chamar a Música” with Herman José.

He currently plays with: Tony Carreira, Herman José Orchestra, RTP Africa Program “Conversations to the South”, Trombonist of Events / DJ, Studio musician in the field of Light Music, Jazz, African, Programs and Generic Television, Spots Publicity.
